Free Music Kristin Hersh's new band, 50 foot Wave, are giving away their new EP. [More:]If you're expecting the acoustic Hersh of recent solo outings, strap yourself in before downloading. This stuff will pick you up out of your chair and pin you to the back wall. This makes me happy.
me too except for the being very slow to load part

Who rocks? bmarkey!

I loved the Throwing Muses. I remember back in 1993 I was in London at the very awesome Tape & Record Exchange when I happened upon the original (holy crap!) demo that got the Muses signed to 4AD. Can't remember how much it was; it seemed a princely sum to my poor student ass, but I bought it, made a master copy to dub for all my friends at Subbacultcha and kept the original on a velvet pillow*.

Of course, that demo was later released as a part of In the Doghouse, but if anyone wants to come by my house and bask in the warming glow of the demo or the Fat Skier 12", just let me know.

*Not really

There is also a thread on MetaFilter about this, that is currently going poorly, which is too bad because one of my best friends posted it there, and he is a nice guy.

This is cool, I've been enjoying Golden Ocean for a few months now.

Wow, that is an ugly thread. This is why I don't do anything there everything becomes snarkier than thou. As an Irish friend used to say, sod that for a game of soldiers,

Throw some punctuation in that last comment somewhere. Your choice.
