AskMecha: Car insurance. My friendly local f*cktarded insurance agency dropped me because they lost a payment. Oh, and because I have 7 points (insurance points, not the license kind). Who can recommend an agency that will not bleed me to death?
Met Life has been more than fair with me. Cheap, too.

geico was good and fast and all that when a fucktard drove over me with his truck.

I hate geico.

Geico will drop you like a hot potato at the slightest provocation. Don't use them. Screw that stupid amphibian.

If you are a AAA member, check with them for insurance.

moonbird, where you at? I love Erie Insurance, but they're only in 11 states.

My sister had a life-alteringly bad experience with Allstate. She sued them and found out that they're considered pretty all-around crappy.

erie insurance is only good to the people who have it. that was who insured the last person who hit me. and they are in fact a company of fucktards.
look, i have never caused any accidents and i have no police record and i have never even got a speeding ticket. if you're like me, geico is good because they actually seem to have sufficient people working there answering their phones and they react hella quick.
IF you're not like me, maybe they will drop you. i can't speak to that.

I've always liked Farm Bureau. I still have it through FB NC, even though I live in Maryland. (Sssh.) There's a 25 dollar "membership fee," but the rates are reasonable and I've been late on a payment or two and they've been lenient.

But really, I don't care about the insurance, just get in your car and mail my f*ing cd already. (Just kidding, I don't care.)

"Geico will drop you like a hot potato at the slightest provocation"

My experience has been otherwise. My teenaged son has had three accidents resulting in claims and they haven't dropped us. Maybe I ought to hope they do, considering how bloody much he costs me in monthly premiums.

Well, I probably should'a checked this thread before I went and did it... after a coworker extolled the virtues of the damn lizard, like almost kowtowing, I checked it out and their rates seemed acceptable enough (being that I had been dropped by AAA I needed something today). I signed up and paid a hefty downpayment, when, after agreeing to everything, they send an email saying that my six-month premium is going to be 300 more bux than what they quoted. And, I'd already signed up. Really feels like a bait-n-switch, which I'll lovingly bring to their attention the next business day.

All said, I should've gone for Progressive or AllState (State Farm wouldn't touch me). Thanks all for your input, even if I didn't get to read the thread before I panicked and bought.
