A request. It has been a long time since I have called myself a Christian but St. Mary’s College helped form the best parts of who I am today. An alumnus, James Loney, has been sentenced to death in Iraq. →[More:]I barely remember him, as he was a couple of years behind me and in high school that’s a big divide. Still, I know where he comes from and what he is made of and that cuts deep.

Please think of James and if it’s what you do, please pray for him. Thank-you.

How awful. This article seems to indicate that there is at least some reason for optimism. I hope this turns out to be true!

He has more of a chance of surviving being Canadian, if that helps at all. (they didn't send troops, nor are they the ones responsible for any foreigners being there in the first place)

I am sending a secular prayer. People with the courage of their convictions should be preserved and looked after as the precious rarities that they are. It's sad that this is what happens when people with real religious values get caught in between gangsters and politicians who dress themselves in clerical robes. I hope he makes it back.
