Mary Ellen Mark has portraits of dozens of celebs including a haunting Jodie Foster, a great Paul Newman, a too prescious Natalie Merchant, a jolly I.F. Stone,and a creepy Don Johnson & Melanie Griffith. She also has pictures that prove the circus is creepy in any nation.

I love her. I'll have to look at these when I'm not at work. She often teaches advanced students at the local photographic institute where I've done some workshops and used their darkroom.

In that photo, Don is probably 23, and Melanie 15.

They're nice, but a lot of them look like book jacket photos -- i.e. not so much revealing of character as the author striking an attractive pose.

"a lot of them look like book jacket photos" True but I find that can be very telling in it's own way. Also, take a look at the non celeb stuff. It has a very different feel.
