Radio Boring Starting in the next ten minutes or so. Featuring a great Beach Boys remake, a solo tune by one of the members of Kraftwerk, and other mellow pop goodies for a grey Wednesday evening.
Broadcasting now.

Listening now.

I'd like to do a broadcast about 9 pm EST if no one minds.

I for one will look forward to it. :) Mine will run 90 mins. max... you ought to post on the main page before long just to get dibs on the time slot.

Sigh .... I recognized that Robyn Hitchcock song in the first 3 notes, even though I haven't heard it in years. Gorgeous.
posted by matildaben 07 December | 18:05
I'd rather wait till closer to the time to post on the front page, otherwise it'll already have drifted down and people won't see it when I'm ready to broadcast.

Spooooooooooooooooon!! Oh dear God, this song is so dripping with subversive and sexsexsexy, it's nearly criminal. Even hotter live.
posted by Frisbee Girl 07 December | 18:27
Subversiveness. Hoo weee, I'm too bothered to type right.
posted by Frisbee Girl 07 December | 18:29
Oh Frisbee, I love that whole album.
posted by matildaben 07 December | 18:32
And 'This Corrosion' is awesome!

matildaben, me too! I was introduced to them a few years ago and they're definitely high on the list.

I've usually been kind of lukewarm about Lambchop but this one has a nice groove.

I'm going to have to actually listen to the lyrics of that Spoon song now. I'm notoriously bad at listening to the lyrics.

Oh my god, The Christmas! This is the album with the Jim Woodring cover. I must resurrect it from the dusty shelves of yesteryear, I remember I loved this one.

You know what would be a good followup to "I left it over there in Florida somewhere"...? Low: "You can't take that stuff to Canada."
posted by matildaben 07 December | 18:42
Glad y'all are enjoying... :) I never knew Jim Woodring did that CD cover!! (The album in question is Vortex by The Christmas, for those who're confused by now.) I have to dig it out now, too. Wow.

My favorite song on that CD is "Hand." If you don't listen to lyrics much, matildaben, you may want to check out the lyrics on that one. Freaky and terrifying. :D

Oh, I do remember that one [Hand]! Pretty creepy.

Calexico: another one of my favorites. I love that almost-jazz number that's near the end of this album (Feast of Wire album).

matildaben, My Mathematical Mind is so sexy for the calculated combination of the lyrics and that lazy "oh the things I could do to you" bass slide. *shivers*
posted by Frisbee Girl 07 December | 19:08
Fris, that is indeed true.
posted by matildaben 07 December | 19:21
OK, just one more song after the current one (Galaxie 500)... thanks for listening! I was able to listen to tunes and chat with y'all while shredding old checks and cleaning out my trashed desk (here at home)... which is better than doing those things WITHOUT music and chatting. :)

Playlist coming ASAP
