Help from fellow MeCha DJs! Am I missing something or is it not possible to play protected .aac files with winamp for broadcasting or broadcast from a Mac? I've got all this music that I'd love to play, but short of burning and ripping it all, I don't see how. ARGH

Hymn doesn't work with iTunes 6. Sadly.

You can redirect the audio output of iTunes to a virtual software sound adapter using Soundflower. Then use Quicktime Broadcaster to do an audio-only broadcast feed of what's coming out of your Soundflower virtual sound card (which is really the iTunes sound feed). Other than that, unless Winamp plays sound from a virtual sound card, I'm out of ideas.

Let me take this moment to say: stop supporting drm media.

I wonder if now's a good time and place to mention that I'm playing some jazz on Radio Mecha.

Do people frequently check the recent-comments page first? I usually do.

nah, you should announce on the front page.

Also, I know that with the Windows version of the Shoutcast plugin, it's possible to broadcast the soundcard output rather than the Winamp output (good for mixing, using a microphone, etc.). Maybe there's something similar for Mac, and then you could just play 'em w/iTunes.

Also, what drpynchon said.

Al, im no use on the Mac front. More, and even less usefully, i support what drpynchon says. More and more: that winamp/windows feature i hope is gonna get me a live mix on the air when i buy one of these little fellas to patch into traktor.

May i stop drooling now? No?

Apparently you need the hands of an eight-year-old to control it since its so small, but as i already have those in a box under my bed i just need to stump up the spondoolicks.
