Today, I spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about MetaFilter. →[More:]I suppose that means I'm addicted. What happens if mathowie dies? And how about 38 years and 7 months into the future? What will MetaFilter be then? Or if Suicide Girls offers an obscene amount of money to purchase MetaFilter? What if we put the puppy down and force it to choose between MetaChat and MetaFilter and it runs to MetaChat? All these questions and I have no answers. I must plan for the future damnit! Actually, wait a second... it's pretty freaking late. I haven't slept for many, many hours. Maybe something is controlling my brain and making me think silly thoughts...

So how about you? How's you're 3:39 AM central standard time?

Give it up by not taking it up.

I've just about given up on MeFi. I go back now and then, but that's more from habit than enjoyment. Up here *taps head* I'm already gone.

I've recently signed up at digg.com, being a collaborative filtering junkie, but after seeing all the obvious spam and two-paragraph news articles "dugg" by the lemmings there I've gained a great appreciation for even the lowliest MeFi newsfilter posts.

sites like mefi can't be that hard to come up with. It seems like it peaked content-wise a year or two after startup.

(on another subject, I'm also madly jealous of the ability of everyone in the real world [read: not Texas] to have meetups. I'd even drive to Dallas for one...but there just don't seem to be very many Texan MeFiers out there...)

I'm not sure if it's widely known. Me though, I'm a little puppy, and I'm running to Mecha so I figured I should throw that out there.

(An on that other subject... You're not alone. I too am jealous of all those people in the real world. The closest person to me in Northern Minnesota is 45 minutes away. And that's just one guy. The rest of my Minnesota padres are 4 hours away in the Twin Cities. It's so lonely up here. And cold. Won't someone come visit?)

I, too, think about Metafilter way too much. Everytime I have a problem, I think about how I would post about it on AskMetafilter, and the various ways people could flame the thread.

(and ya, meetups are fun- come to NYC and we'll have one in your honor. We're all losers and can get together for meetups at the drop of a hot- no, really!)
