This is almost painfully beautiful.
Sorry about the browser resizing.

That IS lovely. The colors are so warm.

Also, I am using Opera and nothing resizes my browser unless I let it. I love Opera.

It is snowing and sleeting here right now; I think that's why I was so struck by the warmth in the painting.
posted by Wolfdog 05 December | 17:34
Snowing here as well and the warmth struck me for the same reason.

-24 °C here right now. This warmed me up with one look. I'm having a tough time navigating the site though. Is this an artist's site or is it just some place where people submit their stuff?

[Also using Opera. It is very lovable.]

It's a communal gallery. It's hard to navigate (unless, presumably, you read Korean; wish I did). I posted about the site on MetaFilter and included some navigation help, but that doesn't seem to be available at the moment. I was disappointed there wasn't more response on the blue; I was bowled over by some of the stuff, and still am.

People on the blue never respond to the really cool stuff.

-24 °C? Isn't that, like, 500° below in Farenheit? (Stupid American resistance to the metric system.)

Wolfdog's MeFi post with even more goodness in case anyone was having problems finding it/too lazy to look themselves.
posted by panoptican 05 December | 18:21
Wolfdog! I'm sorry I missed that Mefi post the first time around. I really like these.
posted by LeeJay 05 December | 18:26
Whoa, rawfishy really schooled me in that thread, huh?
posted by interrobang 05 December | 18:32
Yeah, s/he totally schooled you... the whole thread really. I'm not even sure why we are still discussing this.

Actually, even on quirky or niche-y topics, I think mefites are typically very generous about doling out the "thanks" and "[this is good]" comments - so much so that you can get a little disappointed when it doesn't happen; but it is kinda silly to expect a pat on the every time you link to something.
posted by Wolfdog 05 December | 18:37
but would you buy them?
if the answer is yes, we gotta pull a show together--

very nice!

People on the blue never respond to the really cool stuff.

I agree.

I went to respond to the very cool stuff...but the thread is closed. :( Take solace that your efforts didn't go unnoticed Wolfdog.

Artsy stuff reallllllly never gets much comment. I can attest to that not dissuading people from checking out the link however. It was like 500:1 visitors:commenters --- just a little weird thing you see if you get posted to the blue.

[and I've just turned the aircon on. 26 deg C and humid...sorry for you all]
posted by peacay 05 December | 19:16
Oh...specklet thats [(26 x 2) + 30] = 82 deg farenheit (it's an approximation that works quite well in normal temp ranges).
posted by peacay 05 December | 19:18
I knew it was something like that, but jeebus, where the hell is panoptican that it's that cold there?
posted by Specklet 05 December | 19:59
It's up to -18 °C and that's totally not right. Well the formula is right but using a negative temperature changes things a little (namely because adding a postive number to it brings the temperature closer to zero not further from it).

-24 °C = -11 °F

And I'm in Northern Minnesota, near Duluth.

Temperature converter. The site has all sorts of conversion thingies. It's quite useful.

Speaking of... Check out megaconverter. Where else can you find out that two points of mignonette is equal to 13 points (typography), or five hekats is equal to 23,843.376 milliliters (ancient volume)?

It's not really quite useful, but lots of fun.

1 noggin is equal to 0.00947 nebuchadnezzar. Or so they claim.
posted by Wolfdog 06 December | 08:34
I love the dogwood.

The amount of chatter on a MeFi post has nothing to do with post quality. Hmm, there should be a converter for # of comments - # of useless, crap, bloviated comments / political content * C = FPP goodness.
