Just a fyi for all the DJs - you're not supposed to post advance playlists, according to the broadcasting requirements.

I didn't post mine til after the broadcast was done, ico.

I know.

So this was a selection from Vol. XXIV - "J through M", then? ;)

A question as I try to assemble a playlist of my own (I emailed dodgy, and have installed Winamp and (I think) the Shoutcast plugin): Do I have to rename my actual song files to comply with the naming requirements, or do I just have to name them appropriately within Winamp?

Nice to see Joe Tex getting some play.

yhbc, it gets the artist/title from the ID3 tags so if you have them property tagged (cf. MusicBrainz) it should be OK.

Nice list there Jon. Can we agree though that "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" is one of the worst songs ever written? Ouch. Our band covers that song and whenever the "waring blender" line pops up, I can't look at the crowd because I'm too busy cringing.

I think it's a brilliant parody of James Taylor and his ilk's self-pity: "these young girls won't let me be, poor poor pitiful me..."

Also, if anybody wants I have a YSI link to a zip file of all the songs in the show. send an email if you want 'em.

Ok, I'll give you that but "Waring blender"? Warren is posthumously guilty of worst use of product placement in a song lyric. Not that that negates all the great songs he's written; just a bad slip of the pen is all.
