Put a ring in *this*. Last night's Depeche Mode thread inspired me to share with you: Enjoy the Silence, rendered rockingly (apparently, it's possible) by Failure.
Bonus: Coil remix of Rush.

Ah, Failure. A very unappreciated band, imo. I used to have an almost complete Ken Andrews collection, many reformats ago (excluding year of the rabbit). This is one of their better covers.

Great cover, goodnews! Thanks!

I liked Failure a lot too, p&c. Esp. the song Solaris (based on the same story this movie was).

Fantastic Planet is a real masterpiece. I need to dig it out and rerip it.

I've got Fantastic Planet on DVD. What a weird, cool flick. My favorite part - of course - is where the adults get all zonked on something psychoactive and have some kind of artistic/creative mind-sex and/or persona melding/sculpting.

You got that right, loquacious. When I first saw that movie I was not really prepared for the full-scale communal depersonalization thing. There are many weird things about that film, but the mind-sex is the most (and pretty accurate with respect to my memories of hard acid trips. Purely a coincidence.)

What qualities do you enjoy most in other people? || Taser anyone on psychedellics before shooting them.
