what makes a day holy? the federal mandate or double overtime or--→[More:] well, whatever butters or burns your onion, make the most of it
Not to harsh your buzz, but 'holy' really does not fit in my vocabulary. As for today, as with most 'holy days', I say "screw tradition" and just do whatever I want.
I made one of my favorite meals, a variation on New England boiled dinner (which in all likelihood is closer to what the pilgrims actually ate (and don't even get me started on their dogma)), plus I messed around with a music generation program that has sat in my computer untouched far too long. Also, from a recommendation by jonmc, I am drinking a Cisco wine, the berry flavored one, eating mixed nuts, and I bummed a couple cigarettes from my ex.
OK, that was probably far too much information for many of you, but what the hell, I'm happy (probably because I decided today to stop taking this one anti-depressant whose side effects make me feel crappier than the depression normally would).
I dunno, 12 hours at double-and-a-half is pretty darn sweet. Opening the overtime check definitely classified as a religious experience. I've had that once on an emergency call0-out just this August.
