Freddie's Dead Hey, since everybody else is posting their music, I thought I could use you people for my own means.
I'm creating a funk band, and right now I'm sketching out music for the band, so in no way is this a finished project.yet.
I converted the original strings for multiple trumpet parts (since that is one of the three instruments I play).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
That's a big-ass file. Hope I can download it before my 'server' gives out. Let you know soon.

I managed to download 2/3 of it.

Nice mix of the parts, everybody has their own space, very clean. I totally get what you are doing with the sustained horns.

I don't really feel adequate to offering a critique. The horn part starting at the lyric "Everybody's misused him..." has an early-Chicago vibe but thereafter, it quickly starts sounding very natural and original; it compliments the vocal nicely. Perhaps a bit more out, as the song progresses, but I'd have to hear it to see if it works.

Is this the only version?

Side note: You should be able to find a freeware aif-to-mp3 converter fairly easily.

UPDATE: here's the mp3 file for ya'll. Should make the download quicker. Thanks again.

Wow, those three-part horn harmonies are gorgeous, perhaps a bit too pretty given the lyric but that's a matter of interpretation, and what you are playing certainly fits. That lick that finishes at 2:10 is perfect for the song! Really out, and a very sharp punctuation. Something like that again, and a bit longer, toward the end would be a nice balance.

Side note 1: Listening back to my composition Linnea, I can tell the difference between my initial stabs at doing jazz and someone seasoned like yourself. I'm going to rethink a lot of that.

Side note 2: The difference between aif and mp3 is very apparent between those two files. The mp3 compression kills quite a bit of vibe. The sacrifices we make for convenience, eh?
