Askmecha: "El Paso" by Marty Robbins? "El Paso City" retells the story of "El Paso" but was there another song that told the story from a third perspective?
Years later Marty Robbins recorded "El Paso City". Is that what you're thinking of?

I'm not sure, when I was in boy scouts (10+ years ago) one of our scout leaders played "El Paso" and "El Paso City" for a friend and I. Recently, the friend and I both swore that there was a third song that he played that might have told the story from the perspective of the woman in "El Paso." According to my friend in that song you find out that the woman killed the narrator in the first song. I can't find any mention of a third song though.

Tom Russell has the The Hills of Old Juárez which features a Felina who sells out a man. Sort of a cross between El Paso and Copperhead Road. Still I doubt that's the thing you're thinking of.
