The MiHail thread has just caused me to revisit her magnificent original, which is here. Gets better with age like a fine sherry.

MiHail, in terms of your question, there are too many ways to make a good or bad post to be able to construct a definitive list for either, but as far as a post addressing something like the organ donation issue is concerned, what you want to look for is something that most people don't know about, and use that as the backbone of your post.
For example, there is an internet site called lifesharer.org in which members, in the event of their death, promise their organs first to other members of the network. This is interesting because most people probably don't know about it, it's an example of an internet initiative to address an issue, and something that readers might want to participate in. Following this up with links that might explicate the problems and concerns leading to such a project would probably be a good post.
Basically, you want to avoid links to very general/obvious sites or articles that point out well-known information, because people can find these things instantly on their own.
Anyway, stay and post and relax. You are being extra sensitive, and I promise you that you can get to a point where posting isn't such a jittery thing. You do need to be able to distance yourself though, even in the event that you really do get snarked (you didn't in this case, though!) over something that you think is good. It's happened to me, and to probably every other person who has posted much at all. Sometimes you will be lauded, on the other hand... So you just have to keep trying to learn, and take the sour with the sweet, without reading too much into either of them. Good luck!
Look, this isn't meant to be snide. Still if you have something to say *about* MiHail (who is now a metachat member), maybe you should say it *TO* her instead?
Or maybe you didn't realize she was here?
