I wonder if Jim Jarmusch's Ghost Dog was made with this film in mind.

It is one of my goals to watch every Criterion Collection film. I've got a decent enough start, but I should really buckle down.

Ghost Dog also borrows from/quotes Seijun Suzuki's Tokyo Drifter and Branded to Kill (both of which are Criterion discs, methinks).
