Maya's Micronomicon An amazing sketch/notebook kept by a Mefi member. It was featured briefly in this post back in August but it's just so awesome I thought it deserved its own over here. Make sure you look at the enlarged pictures.
Awesome. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

I don't understand the significance of this. Um, perhaps I'm immune to viewing this kind of thing thanks to four years of critiquing and exploring the pens of my peers at school. Still a fine, interesting link though, so don't let my design snobbishness bring it down. I mean I too can appreciate the creative aspect of this.

Fascinating. I never knew there were symbols for different types of rock, or for most of the things mentioned there. Beautiful.

It's a magic mix of my favourite things: notebooks, arcane symobology, and interesting uses of flat space.

Kinda like seeing the inside of somebody's brain. Neat.

Hmmm. I don't think it's amazing for the artwork contained within (if you take each piece individually) although I think there are some really stunning pieces in there. It's the overall impression I get from the notebook. The sheer amount of time it must have taken. The vast amount of subjects covered and the way she chose to present them. The effort put into it. It's definitely worth much more than the sum of its parts, to me.

Kinda like seeing the inside of somebody's brain.

Heh. Selfnoise just summed up in one sentence what I was struggling to convey.

Heh. Like the inside of my brain, sometimes.

I dig this a lot. I have secretly been a subsciber to her Flickr photostream which is full of more goodness.

I have been keeping this a secret. I think it is that cool.

Oh wow the drawings...

bdave, you selfish, selfish man! How could you, after all we've meant to each other?

Er, I posted in a similar vein on the MeFi thread, sans link.

Obviously it hasn't rubbed off.

I'm jealous she got to hug a panda!

Some of us have also received her work in the form of a fabulous and tiny handmade 'zine.

But you need to know Torrez first.
