08 November 2005

My former home of Ol' Virginnie is looking great for my fellow Dems. Can't read NJ yet.

These are good nights, because both success and failure are reasons to drink a few beers.

So far so good...

I can't seem to write or speak a sentence that doesn't include the phrase "Fuck you, Texas," in some shape or form.

It blows me away that I am of the 25% of Texas voters who voted no on prop 2.

Fuck you, Texas indeed.

I'm probably getting ahead of myself, but the VA results are telling--Kilgore is winning expected areas, but not by much, in some hardcore military towns (Va Beach, Norfolk). Races are much tighter down-ticket, but it's nice to see Bush can't muster shit for any of his fellow travellers.

It'll be funny in 2006 watching Republicans begging off from getting a visit from dear leader.

In NJ right now:
Corzine 54%
Forrester 43%

At this point I don't care who wins in NJ, I've had to sit through so many of their obnoxious ads that I'm righteously sick of both the fuckers.

Looks good for Kaine, Corzine and Bloomberg right now, I'm told.

(And, in my home district, the library levy passed 60/40 or so.)

[Tapping foot, waiting for it to be 11 when the news comes on.....]

I'd be watching the results if the news outlets here would actually say anything.....

Bangor Daily News - Vote No on 1 seems to be holding its own, however: 57% No to 43% yes....

Keep the faith, Selfnoise!

I'm pessimistic as always. Only 25% districts at the moment, and I think Portland is more heavily reported at this point. But I'm hoping. :)

Kaine got it. Did very nicely too, but has big shoes to fill i.e. Mark Warner.

I got re-elected in Franklin, Massachusetts to the Town Council, but I don't think it'll be on CNN any time soon. I might try to post a linky tomorrow, depending on what the local paper looks like.

birdherder, you're welcome to join me on my tiny, manmade island in the gulf of mexico. nuevo austin, i'll call it. there will be breakfast tacos, gay marriage and plenty of hike and bike trails. and free wireless!

Looks like most (possibly all) of the Governator's ballot initiatives are heading for failure here in CA, as well as the abortion parental notifation proposition. Wahoo! And it only cost $50 million!

Nuevo Austin does sound nice freshwater_pr0n. Much nicer than my idea of us keeping Austin where it is and building a wall around it like West Berlin was in the cold war. Our little blue city in the middle of a very red state could get airlifts of culture from CA and NY.

Yay yhbc!!

Vote No on 1 seems to have done its job, keeping a law prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation on the books here in Maine.

Results as of 1:44:16 AM, 547 of 634 (86%) of precincts have been reported
QUESTION 1: PEOPLE'S VETO
No 189822 55.19%
Yes 154107 44.81%

Also, the town of Ogunquit, Maine passed a law banning chain resturants within the town limits.

In general, a good day to be a progressive.
