Off With His Thumbs! Nevada mayor wants to amputate thumbs of graffiti artists, live on television. Mayor also thinks caning is a good idea.

Another panelist on the show, state university system regent Howard Rosenberg, said cutting off the thumbs of taggers won't solve the problem and Goodman should "use his head for something other than a hat rack."

There was a letter to the editor of the Charleston ~~Newsless~~ News and Courier lo these many years ago, when flag burning was a Big Issue. In it, this old lady suggested in all seriousness that people conviced of flag burning have FLAG BURNER tattooed across their faces. I cut it out, it was so wonderful; it almost made me want to go and get the tattoo.

:) A pal is organizing "carpetbagger" stencils for use in New Orleans. Three sizes: window, vehicle, and building.

He's also making "slap stickers" for placing on a person's back with the same label.

I'm very proud of him.

The Vegas Mayor MIGHT himself be in line for some creative (and veeeery stealthy) taggery.

Oscar Goodman, the mayor of Las Vegas and the subject of this post, made his mark by defending organized crime figures during the Strip cleanup in the 60s and early 70s.

He also wants to legalize prostitution in Las Vegas, so he's not all bad.

I don't get his stance graffiti though. Las Vegas is not nearly as bad as other big cities I have seen.

Yes, well, the "heinous crime" that people in France were beheaded for was being insanely wealthy, titled and well fed while the vast majority of the country was hungry, homeless and growing in discontent.

I'm just saying...if he wants to bring back the guillotine using the same criteria...I'm all for taking the Hiltons first.

That said, he's obviously a crazy person.
