what do you know... [More:]about Kadanoff scaling of the Ising Model, and more generally, Wilson's theory of renormalization and critical points?

The problem set is due tomorrow. And Wilson's original papers tend to come in at about thirty to sixty pages. Chop chop.

Maybe just, what do you know. Interrogative. Not meant as a cruel rhetorical question.

OK, I'm with you up to the part that starts with →[More:], but from then on you lost me.

Hang on, I'm reading Wilson for you right now!

I don't know anything about that sam. But I think there was a Blues Clues episode on the subject. I'll ask my kid when she wakes up.

Wilson posits that renormalization and critical points tend to occur in clumps around the number 23 and usually reference the planet Sirius. Kadanoff is often considered to have cheated in his scaling of the Ising model, since he used pitons, and the Ising model is only 4 feet high and quite easy to scale anyway, even barefooted, because you can step up on those arrows. Therefore Kadanoff is clearly from Sirius, which can be demonstrated by the simple test of offering him a milkbone, as denizens of Sirius are unable to resist a milkbone with their coffee. Coffee, which is difficult to drink from an Ising model, is often found in conjunction with discussions of Wilson's oeuvre, and that's why those arrows all point at each other, forming a central matrix if you will, a vortex if you won't, of coffee talk about dogs.

But once Ising's model is projected onto a screen it is much higher than 4 feet.

Tell me a secret. || would you rather be happy, or be right?
