Anyone dressing up for Halloween? [More:]I'm going as a slutty yet well-accessorized pirate wench. Well, I'm going to a party this weekend with a certain dashing Black Bart, so I guess that makes me *his* accessory. (Lending new meaning to "booty call," ARRRRR.)
I've not shaved in a couple of months, so my wolfman costume is coming along nicely.

My son is going as Calvin (of "& Hobbes," not John), so I'll default to "Calvin's dad".

I don't think I am, but I found some pretty good costume ideas at, of all places, the Martha Stewart website. There are articles on how to make last minute costumes out of trash bags and coffee filters and things. I love that stuff.

postmdermillie, I pictured you as Julie Andrews!

I'm stealing my son's Rasta-naut get-up and confusing the kiddos. I like Calvin better though.

I'm going to a concert right after a Haloween party, so I needed something that was easy to remove...hence the 'bad kitty' costume. Ears, a tail, a studded choker and a whip and I'm set.

Did someone mention Calvin?

I figured it out this morning for a party tomorrow. I'm going to be Hunter Thompson. Which means I get to carry around a bottle of Wild Turkey all night! Maybe I'll stick a joint in my cigarette holder instead of ciggy though.

Can I put in a call to post pictures later?

I'm going with the scariest costume I can come up with. I's the same one I wore two years ago:

Chief Justice John Ashcroft

here's the Martha stuff

i always make big costume plans and don't end up doing them. I think i'll do what i usually do, just throw on a ratty wig and do mental patient. : >

I'm going as a bitter, underpaid, middle-aged wage-slave. So, no.

If I can get my act together in time and the dye color comes out right, I'm going as a member of Team Zissou. Otherwise I got nothing.

We're going to the annual halloween party with bonfire. It's tough to get my husband to dress up because they are all ex-punk band members and too cool....except that the host and hostess make a big deal of it. Last year the host made some sort of bad ass knight's armor that he welded together. Husband and I wore tin foil hats. It is pretty hard to come up with something that would take less effort then that.

I so wanted to be Domo Kun, but it's really too late to be doing all that sewing and working with chicken wire. Plus, the flu has had me down all week so not really up to costume making. The missus would probably be one of the cousins of the Prince from Katamari Damacy. I can get my dog to snap at my fingers by curling them a certain way, so I desperately want to dress him up as a turtle.

Alas, next year.

I sometimes think it's a shame that we don't celebrate Halloween here - the one time that I could fit in without any effort.

Julie Andrews?!? Bitch. :-)

I totally want to see fenriq's getup.

amberglow, that's awesome!

dreamsign, I knew an old dog name Molly who would growl ferociously if you did "the growly hand" by curling your fingers in towards your palm.

Costume? I usually have fabulous costume ideas, but this year I've been too preoccupied so I'm falling back on an old standard: dominatrix. I have this black neoprene-y dress that's very tight and very short and has buckles in good places, worn with knee-high black patent leather FMBs and thigh-highs. Add riding crop and handcuffs and voila! It's Spanking with Specklet.

Helloooooo Specklet. Be a dear and share a pic with us next week, will you? Thanks so much, love.

The closest I'll probably come to a costume this year is wearing all black to see Bauhaus on Saturday night. If I do wind up dressing up to go out on Friday, it will probably be my old fallback costume: debauched Catholic schoolgirl! Equal parts red kilt, white blouse, black bra, ripped stockings, and black maryjanes, combined with hair in pigtails and bright red lipstick. Et voila! Guaranteed costume contest winner, in about 5 minutes flat.

If I go out, which is looking unlikely, I'm planning on being a failed plastic surgery patient, kind of like Katherine Helmond in Brazil. ≡ Click to see image ≡

My friend Big Patrick's little girl - second grade - tallest in her class - is going as Cheryl Swoopes. He's buying her a jersey tongiht. I like the way he thinks.

I'm going as an old west saloon girl, but dead. I was going to get a noose and do bruses around my neck, but I just couldn't manage a rope that wouldn't irritate my skin beyond a tolerable point. The roommate is going as a zombie tonight, and we're hitting a few parties with a mutual friend.

Monday I'm dressing as Scarlet O'Hara (couple years ago's costume) for work, and in the evening the sluttier costume is getting a rerun at the club. My roommate (who has a very distinctive style) is dressing as a friend of ours (who also has a very unique look), and vice versa.
