My First Ever Slashdot Accepted story You may now stroke me.
*shiver with anticipation* Extending one finger carefully here, worried about electric shocks.

aaaaand.... the page won't load. ha! I'll try later. Congrats seanyboy; you're typing in the big leagues now, for damshure.

*pets, strokes, feeds tasty treat*

Yay! Seanyboy! I don't actually know much about /., but I believe this is a good thing.

try again, reflecked - I can see it now

Yes it does. :) I'm forwarding the link to some UK friends now. I'm glad for a chance to read the story before there are 10,000 comments. Banking law is (for me) opaque and obfuscatory at best; this is a fairly compelling situation. Thanks seanyboy. *stroke* bzzzzzzt!!!

i'm proud of you, too, and i think it's a fine article.

Wow - big respect there seanyboy. It's an interesting story, too.

In my many years as a slashdot user (proud owner of a 4-digit uid, only slightly abused) I've never had one accepted. And it's not a dupe! And most of the comments are on topic so far, which may be even more impressive...

not to derail, but since arsehat's post about the suicide girls, i've developed a distinct dislike of sites still sponsored by them.
Boing Boing does and i'd like to not have to go there. i haven't gotten to go there much anyway (besides when people point it out) but BB is an easy way for me to catch up on things. so I, personally, wouldn't mind if people let me know of cool things posted there, as the individual posts don't have the ads. Slashdot is not one of the sites that runs their ads as far as i know, but i also don't usually ever go there unless someone points it out, or on the rare whim.

Cool beans, sb! Tie in a few words linking matters to the BCCI scandal, and you’ll have a four star MetaFilter discussion.

I got those clowns to accept a story about real-life ornithopters once, by referencing Dune ... I was unreasonably happy about it at the time. I guess 'cause it's like losing your nerd virginity.

I guess 'cause it's like losing your nerd virginity.

But does that also mean you're no longer qualified to post to slashdot?

Great story. I'm a bit surprised that they accepted it, given that it's actually quite interesting ;-)

to shorten a long story:
friends pissing off a bridge
one yells "don't cross the streams"
much laughter
the end

Congratulations! *stroke*

About a week ago I saw an article with no posts. I wanted to write the first post, but I fear Slashdot now, so I didn't. :(
