Ancient Game Pieces. I don't know if you'll like these... I'm just always fascinated by early artifacts that have to do with fun and leisure as opposed to tools (though also cool!) and houseware-type stuff.

Lots of other interesting items at this site, too. I like the seals (no, not that kind of seal, silly!).

Good to see that even in the olden days, game geeks tended towards phallic representations of the women they had no chance of ever attaining.

Nothing like a game of bones to cool the weary brow.

Cool, taz. So who played these back in the day? Was it exclusive to royalty and such, because I can't imagine farmers having any free time.

I love stuff like this. Can I have this one?

It is very problematic that these are for sale, given almost all of them have been illegally and/or unethically looted from archaeological sites.
The dealer's assurances of legality only refer to very weak third-national laws (i.e., Australian law wrt Iranian antiquities) and to self-serving antiquities dealer associations who frame lovely certificates and award them to each other.
Stopping the world market in looted antiquities is one of the principal tasks of the world archaeological community.
