Helvetica Guy in an Arial World I have 1,500 or so fonts placed into individual folders catagorized and ready to share. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD!
most of my fonts are classical and blackletter, I have a lot of art deco and sanserif stuff too. Generally a great start to any font collection.

I can't wait to see - thanks for sharing! This is like getting a present. I had no idea sendit could handle such large files. Gotta love it.

kick ass! Anyone have a recommendation for a free font manager for Mac? I've already got hundreds of fonts, but nothing to manage them.

Cool. I have these very old corel draw CDs that came with thousands of fonts (corel draw 3 and 5, belive it or not) and they all seemed to look the same. Still, I wish I had them on hand.

Are these nice fonts, or what?

Also, did you know that fonts cannot be copyrighted? Their names can be copywritten, but that's it.

Font Explorer is excellent. The designer-types I know are thrilled with it.

joelf, are all these fonts free? They aren't fonts that you've purchased with a single license?

i didn't pay for the fonts. I think a lot are ripoffs of actual fonts. Like mentioned above instead of Helvetica it's Halvabread or something.

All the fonts are good. most useful, and all really nice. To me anyways :)

If you want to thank me for the weekend spent catagorizing them, you can pass my website along to someone looking for web design work. www.joelf.com

Joel, these are awesome. Thank you! Some of the dingbat fonts are hilarious. If I knew the kind of people who even knew what web design was, I'd certainly refer them to you.

Is it just me or does FontExplorer not work with OS X? Keeps trying to open Classic.

What's a font manager for? Don't tell me "to manage fonts," unless that's the answer, and if so, please elaborate.

I had hundreds of fonts on my old computer, and it made programs like Photoshop take a really long time to load--it would always hang up on "reading fonts" at startup.

a font manager is good only if it automagically opens the fonts you need when you need them, so you don't have to always keep them open.

actually, Font Explorer is either 10.3.9 or Classic--no inbetweens. I'm pretty ok with FontBook at home.

Ah, thanks, amberglow. I'm on Tiger.

I have heard that if you drop that many fonts into, surprisingly enough, your fonts folder on Windows, it'll slow your system down to a crawl. Just a word of (possibly spurious) warning....
