Good night and good luck. What's a good book to read on the HUAC, Edward R Murrow, Red Scare business?
Funny you should mention the HUAC because Im reading James Ellroy's The Big Nowhere and that has a story thread about it. If you want a decent book on it, tho, this probably isnt it.
George Seldes' Witness to a Century has some interesting comments about HUAC in its several stages, also his acquaintence with Murro and his encounter with McCarthy.
Not the book you're looking for, but very interesting commentary by somebody who was there and stood up against it. My favorite anti-facist.
