Ask MetaChat: Do you use Flash on a Mac? I'm looking for Flash Mac users (with a single or double button mouse) to help me with a simple operating system specific test. It would only take a few minutes of your time and I'd really appreciate it if you could help.

All instructions are contained within the FLA. You'll need MX 2004 or greater to open the file. The code is not malicious. If you decide to help, please reply to this thread showing your interest.

Thanks.

Scott
it opened fine...what's supposed to happen?

I was hoping you'd run the file and take note of the output window. After, I request that you mail me the output window's contents in an email. You could also post that here. Be sure to disable keyboard shortcuts when testing the FLA though (via the Options menu).

instructions trimmed...

// Date: 2005/9/26
// OS: Mac OS 10.4.2
// Version: MAC 7,0,19,0
// PT: External
// ========================================

// User's mouse model = Two-button
// ========================================

From steps 2 on, nothing happens. (left-clicking the stage did nothing; right-click and ctrl-click open the standard context menu.)

It would seem that I am trying in vain to detect left, right and control-clicks on the Mac. This demo movie does it for Windows but Macs fail upon taking the test. Any additional feedback you guys might have would be highly valued. Here's the new FLA for the linked file. I don't have a Mac to test on by the way. Well, not at least for a few days and I was hoping to get this sorted before I gained access to one.

So I tested on a Mac today and I realised that I'm beating a dead horse in pursing this issue. Hopefully this helps the next poor sucker who trys to do what I've done.
