Thank you for reminding me why I became an English major. I was the jerk in your classes who couldn't get his head around recursion. (I know, I know...it's not hard.) Images of Towers of Hanoi and botched attempts at writing Othello in Pascal are dancing in my head.... I was Mr. Core Dump.
Anyone want to take a crack at explaining strong induction to me one more time?
...because, his encouragement and support of Metachat, as he has done from its outset, is in recognition that more sites in the form of his original Metafilter will be born as the net and blogging grows. Rather than talk Metachat down as smaller or less important, he sees it as useful and valid.
kortez: there's a diffrence between recursion and induction. Induction is something you can use to prove a recursive function is correct. Recusion just means calling the same function from inside itself.
