There seemed to be a ... pause ... in posting and comments (not complete, but noticeable) as we all sat stunned at our PC's laptops and TVs and watched the disaster unfold on the Gulf Coast. It seemed like everyone was bummed-out for a while and we're only slowly coming back.

I've noticed this on Flickr as well.

Meanwhile, it seems like a bunch of young folk have kind of taken over MetaFilter.

Anyone else notice?

Oh yes, Frisbee lady. Speak-up! Do you need anything? Have you enough food and water?

I Noticed. Many and/or some seemed pretty interesting, cool, well-versed, etc.

Others seemed quite scruffy and in need of a stout switch and a strong lye-soap bath.

Such are the sins of growing old, I'd assume.

I wondered where she was before her recent post. I'm a fan of San Fransico meetups (even though I don't live anywhere near the place), I recently read there was going to be a meetup soon, she may attend one because I remember her presence was specifically requested, she seems like a really nice girl.
