New York mini meetup next week anyone? I have landed a short courier gig to New York next week. Anyone for beers Tuesday or Wednesday evening? →[More:] I'm picking up art for the museum where I used to work. I haven't been to the city for years; I am so excited! Staying in Park Slope but I can pretty much go anywhere, do anything except for when I'm loading & unloading art.

It's a tricky two evenings for me to schedule in advance b/c I have something that happens either on tuesdays or wednesdays but is never confirmed until tuesday itself, but I'll check back in to see where you all will be.

Yay! Weds. is better for me, but I have some leeway. Definitely prefer downtown somewhere, because getting from North Brooklyn to the Slope is v. v. hard.

Downtown is my natural milieu, or it used to be. Is 8B still there? Is Sidewalk still there? Is Fanelli's still there? Is oh god what was the name of that bar with the pool table in Soho about a block east of West Broadway & Prince still there? What about the strange lizard loungey fancy place right off Houston where I saw Richard Butler from the Psychedelic Furs? And Max Fish? Is there still Max Fish?

On preview, recognize that I may be dating myself - not to mention outing my alkie habits - rather seriously here. ;-)
