Yay!

Here's another gem for you, dame.

The winner of this year's New York Times College Student Photo Contest took pictures of areas along the 7 train line here in Queens.

Because it's a slideshow, I can't link the pictures here, but the ones labeled "Long Island Rail Road, Hunter's Point" and "5 Pointz, Long Island City" are right near where I live. As a matter of fact, you can see the corner of the building next to mine in the corner of the "5 Pointz" one.

I've been having trouble getting it to load, though, which is why it is in here and not in its own FPP.

I was just at the Hunterspoint LIRR station. I live in North Brooklyn, so it's best to walk there from 21-Van Alst.

We're almost neighbors. I live half a block from the 45th Rd/Court Sq. 7 stop, in the shadow of my day job.

Almost, but not so close. I live in Bushwick, about two blocks from Ridgewood, so I take the L to the G to that stop, then get the LIRR.

Ah, well. With the L and the G, I bet you have a ton of platform waiting. The G in particular. Slow as a mo.

Not really. The G takes ten minutes to come no matter what. The L, two to fie depending. The key is that when you get to Lorimer, you have to be in the correct car (very front) and almost run--then you'll get the G that always arries ten seconds after the L. I take the G south to work when I go to the office & often I wait longer for the A.
