Wow! My father used this on a mix tape he made in the early '80s, but I've never heard it digitally. Even profs that used this to teach from had it on record!

I have it on an old tape; it still gets play. You've not lived until you've danced the whole thing. =)

Crazy. And I'm not even halfway through it.

HILARIOUS.

I was thinking: "Hmm, Ramayana chant, huh? Personally, I like the Kecak."

You've seen Baraka, I'm sure, yes? First (and second) time I ever saw it (third and fourth were, happily, in Indonesia).

And my sig other is loving it, too. We've both been missing Asia tremendously this last while.

This is a great chant and dance (usually performed at night around a fire). It is not a traditional performance though:
"Kecak Dance: A ritual dance created in the early 1930's for the movie "Island of the Demons" by the German painter and intellectual Walter Spies who combined the chorus of the "Sanghyang" trance dance with a story from the "Ramayana" legend."

This is a really good one! Super monkey energy.

Anything longer than "One Step Beyond" is too much dancing for me.
