Zeigeist shoutout - SF It got a little worked over and was baptized by more than one beer (taz & me3dia being the big winners there), but here it is in all of its blurry, approaching midnight, beer garden glory.
We were going to call it the 'Mother of all shoutouts' but that didn't seem big enough. Not sure that 'parental' quite covers it, but a lot of things made more sense last night than they do this morning. "YEAROFTHEGOPHER" falls in that category.
I would also like to point out that it was another MoFi member that scribbled 'monkeys suck' on the side, but hey, anyone wearing a brown MonkeyFilter t-shirt and an orange jacket can say whatever he pleases about monkeys. (Tracicle, any punitive actions fall firmly in your court.)
I tried to get everyone on there - I even made a list before leaving, however, I know I forgot someone, so pleasepleaseplease forgive me: my memory no longer improves after a couple vodka sodas.
Nah, Capn, mine's a free account, but maybe I have to give them money so other people can make notes. At any rate, I put a little note in there for you. =)
amberglow, just so you know, I wrote your name on a stickie, ran to the scanner, scanned my face and the stickie, tried to post it on flickr, tried to change the file to something supported by flickr and failed. But it's the thought that counts, right?
Thanks omiewise, although you probably should have rubbed my nose in it or I'll never learn.
LeeJay, you weren't waiting in a long line in front of a school in Richmond, VA a few days ago, were you?
No, but I do occasionally sing with the Black Eyed Peas.

Oh please, please try again. I'm dying to see that.
Well, I can't find the fricken button on the toolbar in Adobe to export it and save it as a jpg... How can I change a pdf to a jpg? I am woefully non-adept at these things.
And it actually didn't turn out that great; it's so dark you can barely see me. And, as we know, seeing me is what it's all about.
Hi ooga! Well, that makes sense, DaShiv is a wily fellow, but you still get a certain amount of carte blanche for the orange jacket and the MoFi shirt.
Nah. Bendy was too caught up in birthday-ness. scarabic, on the other hand, just *seems* too innocent to quite be believed and DaShiv, well, he's shown his colors, now, hasn't he? And he was taking all of those photographs, too!
In all seriousness, though, I had a great time meeting and hanging out last night. Everyone was even more funny, smart and laid back than I'd anticipated. I hope we do it more often, as well as get more MeCha folks in the mix at future gatherings.
Heh, that's right - you left a little early for the events to which I allude. And I would have to agree as to the congeniality of the meetup and the fun which was had. Admittedly, some sorts of fun was had by certain individuals out of sight of the rest of the table.
*waggles eyebrows and saunters off, whistling innocently*
I made you your very own shoutout. I wrote your name on a piece of paper, taped it to my forehead, and took a picture in the bathroom mirror. It took 7 or 8 tries to get my head in the shot. Then I realized that I needed to write your name BACKWARDS in order for it to be legible. So I did this, re-taped the shoutout to my forehead, and re-took the picture. (This one took more than 7 or 8 shots, though, because I realized that the angle was giving me a double chin. Getting my head in the shot without getting a double chin in the shot was difficult.)
After all that, I can't find the cable that connects my camera to my computer. I'm so sorry!
