Maybe it's that we're all too sad from a day of work and thinking about our suffering brethren to comment.

This is my favorite sad work poem.

Did you see this MeFi post from yesterday, it started me surfing around for poetry. The second link in the FPP has a New Yorker Article half about Roethke.

I read that Roethke article. I really like Roethke - I don't read a lot of poetry (although I am a huge huge haiku fan) but something about his work resonates with me somehow.

I hadn't seen that article, omie -- thank you! I've let my New Yorker subscription lapse, sadly enough.

In an ironic twist, I'm home from work sick. I called in with the Roethkes. Thankfully, there were no questions.
