It shoulda been Kerry in the White House, but that didn't happen either. I voted for Kerry and not Bush, but at this point, I'm not convinced he's doing anything that Kerry wouldn't be doing with respect to Iraq. I worry about what Bush is going to try in Iran, and I am not happy with his domestic policy, but I really think he's doing about as well in Iraq as Kerry would have in if he had been elected.
Kerry should just go away--his 15 minutes were up long ago. At this point i don't want to hear a word he says, ever again. And sadly, Doohickie, you're probably right, which makes it even worse.
amberglow: I don't mean that as a slam against Kerry; actually, I'm surprised that Bush has done as well as he has. He spins it up mightily, but training the Iraqi police & army, moving toward more international cooperation, etc., I think is pretty much what Kerry said he would do.
(i know what you meant, but think Kerry would have made it worth their while--money and oilwise--for other countries to be involved and wouldn't have installed idiots and kids to run agencies there, etc..but we'd still be stuck there)
my uncharitable thoughts on the matter are... uncharitable. when i was a kid, i saw a film, (i think it was called "Zulu") in which angry tribesmen had captured prisoners and suspended them between four springy, bent over saplings restrained by vines. after much celebratory dancing and howling, the vines were severed simultaneously thereby rather spectacularly tearing the unfortunates to pieces. when i see mr. bush on television, my proclivity is toward howling, dancing and slashing things.
nah--just that Kerry's a loser, who didn't fight well enough. Of course, i'd rather have him as pres, but we should have had Gore to begin with in the first place.
