A Rasmussen Reports survey found that 20% of Americans believe prisoners at Guantanamo Bay have been treated unfairly. Seven-out-of-ten adults believe the prisoners are being treated "better than they deserve" (36%) or "about right" (34%).

Personally doomed, or doomed as a species, or just sort of generically doomed? I'm definitely personally doomed but usually I chalk it up to the being eternally cursed by the gods thing.

I dunno about "Doomed," but I often have the odd certain feeling that my house has burned to the ground. Often it comes when we are returning from a weekend away, but last night it happened as we were driving home from seeing the new Batman movie.

I usually just call the house and I feel better when the answering machine picks up.

Sometimes I wish I could call the future to see if America's answering machine picks up, but I haven't figured out a way to do that yet.
