Optimistic much? So MetaChat is no longer a place to "commiserate and bitch when MetaFilter is down" (or something like that - I can't remember the exact phrasing that used to be there)? Are we that confident that the jrun beast has been slain?
Optimism is our middle name! Actually, there's usually somebody hanging out most of the time, whether MeFi is up or down, and it has seemed like the site's been more back to normal lately.
It just began to strike me as sort of churlish towards MeFi, or Matt personally, though it honestly was never meant that way.
I see only bad things with MeFi's server relocation.
I'm quite certain Ryvar, S@L, and their cohorts are planning a coup of matthowie's project...something involving a patent they may have recently filed.
I dunno, I still like MeFi and MeTa, but out of respect for bandwidth and spirit of the blue and grey, which does seems to strive to be more topic driven, I choose to come over here when I feel chatty. My posting style is often more bantering and quippy, especially when I'm online to goof off; a style that gets old when people are attempting to engage in debate.
