Craig Whittler / oneswellfoop On metafilter I spoke out loud that I think that oneswellfoop has died.

I hope I'm wrong. But given that his domain stopped working I have black suspicions.

I couldn't find an in memoriam.

I never met him. And only knew him from his witticisms on metachat and metafilter. He mentioned being disabled. Living in San Luis Obispo. Not a place that I as a european have a mental image of.

It has been almost 3 years. Nobody made an obituary on mefi.

Somehow I've thought about this, about him more than once. I'm hoping that he died surrounded by friends.
But maybe not. That's a downside of being 'extremely online' perhaps.

I was just wondering about Wendel/foop the other day. A few years back I read something that said he was in a nursing home. It is sad.

I'm glad you were thinking about him.
It would be just too sad when all his involvement suddenly stops. And nobody notices or cares.

nursing home would make sense, if we can’t find an obituary and his domain isn’t working anymore.

That thread is bringing back so many sad memories of people who have passed on.

Just to be clear I read something where a person said they read something from another person that Craig was in a nursing home so that's third or fourth hand. Not really a certainty but he had/has a lot of health issues so it makes sense. I hope he is comfortable if he is.

It's unknowable. But the absence of information is a form of 'death' in itself I guess.

Anyhow, I've been thinking about his quite a few times. Glad I'm not the only one to whom this matters.
