Vale scrump. There might be some intersection here between people who don't read Metatalk and people who might remember Ashton/scrump.
I've seen his handle so often on mefi and metachat. His death makes me sad. Even though I wouldn't recognise him in the street.
I have to say: I sometimes wonder whether it was a mistake as a european to spend so much time on metafilter. Perhaps because 98% of metafilter was happening on another continent. So IRL spin off was very seldom.
Recently I've been wondering about oneswellfoop. He was on mefi and metachat so much. And then silence.
I hope there's a positive explanation. That he stopped logging in because he had more fun things to do...
