are we interested in doing anything with Mecha? This site is pretty much in retirement now but if any small tech stuff can help keep things lively (implementing the ability to say someone 'liked' your post, cross-posting from twitter etc, stuff like that) I'd be happy to help out.

I miss this place, honestly. I know many of us have connected on other social sites, but these days those are not "safe" places. This was always a safe place. I didn't have to feel like dodging people here, or unfollowing them just for peace of mind. I wonder if anyone else feels the same?

I miss this place too, but as far as I can tell, these days people would rather be part of the corporate facebook collective. I don't understand it but there it is.

Pondering what can be done without bothering whoever has access to the server (maybe chrismear?)

I think the cross-posting thing can be done... like a website where you can go and enter your twitter handle and it can offer a way to post your latest tweet to metachat's new post preview

Maybe reactions can be done as a browser extension? Just a Chrome extension that enters like ❤️ in the reply and posts it
