I was googling interpretations of 'Running up that hill' eg (here) and I'm kinda losing it. Like yeah it's about exchanging experiences and all that but am I the only one who thought that part of the metaphor is also about sex?
I never thought of that but in looking over the lyrics it does not seem odd that you you might feel that way. It is obviously about not really ever knowing someone else's experience and sex is definitely a subset of that.
I think it's an honest interpretation, though. As with most things Kate, there's a strong sensuality in the mix, regardless of whether it's the primary subject.
