You may remember when I spoke of visiting with some of the neighbor dogs. →[More:] And I said,

Plus there's a new one that barks at us... my son has tried to approach it. It barked and barked but then when my son was within maybe ten feet of the fence, the dog ran around to the other side of the house. Talks a big game but it's apparently pretty shy.

The last view times we've seen him, we walked up to the fence to the fence and he and our dogs have sniffed noses. Still skittish, but warming up. So tonight, we approached the fence and he came right up to us, wagging his tail. So we petted him a little and he really warmed up to us. Just as we were petting him, his people came out of the front door of the house.

I said, "Your dog is very nice!" and his momma smiled and said, "Yes his is. His name is Blackie." I asked if Blackie could have a treat and she said yes. Then she wanted to pet our dogs and we said okay. We had a nice little chat with them and petted Blackie a little more and gave him another treat or two and then we were on our way.

It was a nice visit, and now we have another neighbor dog to see on our walks.
