Food Trucks to the Rescue For whatever reason, my neighborhood seems to be a magnet for area food trucks during this quarantine. It began a few weeks ago, when one of the residents arranged for a local taco truck to visit one evening. It was a huge hit. Since then, we've had a BBQ truck, a different taco truck, a burger bistro truck, and an ice cream & sorbet truck. My friends in the more upscale neighborhoods are quite envious. They've gotten bupkus.

I keep hoping for a wood-fired pizza truck (which I have eaten at awhile back and is amazing).

Anyone else getting food trucks in your neighborhoods?
I talked to one of my friends in Columbus, OH today and they've had a few food trucks. Everything carefully monitored, lines spread 6ft apart, orders placed at a table a few feet from the front end of the truck and paid for remotely, a number given for your order, the order prepared in the truck and placed on a table a few feet from the rear of the truck for pick up. Every order dealt with one at a time. Nobody's allowed to approach the area where the food's being cooked, and everyone is masked and gloved.

My cousin's neighborhood (over in a much-more-upscale Indy suburb) recently had a freaking lobster truck come to them. Lobster rolls do sound good, though.

Oh man. All of that sound wonderful. Alas, no food trucks come anywhere near my little berg.

Colorado is allowing food trucks at the highway rest stops.
Certainly not my hood, but a nice thing to do.

Probably no on the lobster, a maybe on the trout.

I usually do okay with cooking but am now working only weekends so my weekdays are messed up.

I'm spending all of my spare time working outside doing physical work and by the time my body says enough, I don't have any ability left to cook. Therefore I am eating all junk food.

I got some pasta in a supermarket delivery this week (my neighbours are sharing their coveted supermarket orders because, unless you're in the 'vulnerable' category, you can't get a delivery slot, or even sign up for an account). It's the first pasta I've had in ages and it was so good. It's linguine, and I made a mushroom and asparagus 'cream' sauce (vegan). It was so delicious.

I've also been unable to get any flour. It'll show as in stock and is added to the order but every single time it's not arrived. So today I ordered a 16kg sack of flour which was pretty cheap and which I'll share with the neighbours. They can have as much as they want. I might even try baking some bread (I have dried yeast).

No food trucks here. The city has been terrible about where they can go and the last couple weeks have been rainy and historically cold so I doubt anyone has trucks out anyway.
