WTF lightning? I've seen lightning close enough that the bang was almost instantaneous but this was about 4 seconds delayed→[More:] and it was loud enough to hurt my ears and shake the ground. Damn that was crazy.

Yes! Oddly enough we had a huge thunderstorm Friday evening accompanied by vicious loud bangs instead of rolling thunder.

Thankfully the record breaking excessive heat and drought is now replaced by 1 inch of rain and highs only in the upper 80s to low 90s.

The weather is very erratic nowadays.

We are fine but all around us there has been a lot of flooding. Lake St. Clair and lake Erie are crazy high and causing flooding along their shores and we had a wet late winter and a wet spring so inland areas are flooding too. We, fingers crossed and knock wood, had only one minor basement issue when a downspout came off in a storm.

Last year, we seemed to go from winter straight into summer, with nary a pause for our usual spring weather. This year, while we've had a boatload of rain, we've also had thunderstorms and lightning, and feels more like spring again.
