It started getting dark but I beat some pots together and the sun is coming back. I am a hero.
Woo! Yay, arse_hat. I bet the kitties appreciated that.

My office went outside, and a co-worker got overheated and had some sort of seizure - she is fine, and it has apparently happened before, but it was incredibly scary, as she was non-responsive. She did not miss the eclipse, though (which she was concerned about when she regained consciousness).

I'm somewhere in the 90-95% zone and the whole thing was kind of "meh" to me. It got a tad dim, kind of like when a thunderstorm is moving in, but that was about it. I didn't have special glasses to actually look at the sun, so maybe my impression would have been different if I had.

Indeed, you are a hero!

Now, if you could beat something together and get the Obama administration to come back, you could enter sainthood without even being catholic!

Ha. Your image of a cave dweller chasing away the darness obscuring the sun is hilarious.

Thorzdad - it was alright with the glasses. We sent out a bunch of glasses to clients, and went up on the roof for an eclipse party for the few of us that were in the office. We were outside of totality so we mostly got a crescent moon effect. Camera phone pics taken through the filters turned out a lot like what you could actually see. Photo 1 (North Carolina), Photo 2 (Texas). I think more fun was had getting to the roof, eating snacks, and making finger hashtags to see the crescent-shaped shadows.
