Oh, Canada→[More:]
Did I tell my first time in Canada story? I'm guessing probably.
Your massive mosquito issues give me pause but I am still open for a citizenship wedding.
I visited Canada once when I was 8 years old, while on a trip back east to see all my Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. One uncle was employed by the design department of General Motors for 30 years (and after retiring made it his mantra to tell everyone "don't buy GM"). Being in Detroit in 1964, part of the Grand Tour was crossing the bridge into Windsor, Ontario, and the only thing memorable about the trip was the bridge. It must also be noted that as soon as they grew up, all three of my uncle's kids relocated, one to Minneapolis, one to New York City and one to Houston, which is about as far from Detroit and Canada as you can get.
I went to Toronto for New Years 2001-2001 or 2002-2003 to visit folks I knew from work (still have no idea why the company [a consulting firm] brought a bunch of Canadians to OH on travel for almost a year) and omfsm I've never been so cold in my life and it really wasn't that cold for them. The ice sculptures were neat though.
