I don't think the books make much sense to anglosaxon readers. For instance on top is Widerfahrnis by Bodo Kirchhoff. Apparently he received the Deutsche Bücherpreis 2016 for it. It seems it hasn't been translated into English though.
I'm currently reading The Nix by Nathan Hill. Pretty engaging so far. Not likely that I'll stay engaged for its 620 pages. But we'll see.
Here's Lucy lying under the tree. The lights change from green/blue to red/yellow, but the green/blue photographed best. My tree is a mish-mash of collected ornaments, many of which have great sentimental value. There is a cat angel on top of the tree.
