My cousin died today →[More:]Bryce was 73, and had been ill with cancer for about 18 months. I saw him about a month ago, and he was in a lot of pain, and he knew the end was in sight. He was (mostly) at peace with it. He died with his partner and children at his bedside.

My family has a long brass band history, and Bryce played with most of the north-west's best bands - he was an amazing cornet player. Here he is playing "My Love Is Like A Red, Red Rose" with Middleton Band.

So, some sadness this Christmas but I know his pain is over.
