Robocall tech is getting scary better Last week, I received a really interesting form of robocall. It went like this...[More:]

I answer.."Hello?"
The (obviously machine-ish) voice on the other end say something like "Hi, This is Mike Miller. How are you?" Then, silence, apparently waiting for a reply. I stay quiet. "Mike" comes back on "Fine, thank you. I'd like to talk with you about..." Before "Mike could get to what he wanted to talk about, I hung up. I was kind of impressed that the script expected a response and built time in.

So, this morning, I answer the phone, and it's "Mike" again. But, the script is a little different.
"Hi. This Mike Miller. I'd like to tell you about something very important." Then, silence. I answer, "Fuck you." Mike's response..."It looks like you aren't interested in what I have to tell you. I'll put you on our 'no call' list. Thank you."

The system recognizes "fuck you" as a "no". That's pretty cool.

(And, yes, I'm sure "Mike" wasn't a real person. I've heard the same voice in other robocalls. Like my pharmacy when they call to tell me my script is ready.)
Those robots are the WORST! They're getting too smart.

So the takeaway here is answer every phone call with "FUCK YOU!"?
