A tiki bar has just opened near me, in central England. I don't think the concept is very familiar to the locals and it doesn't seem busy at all.

Why not roll your own?

A bunch of us built one in a friend's backyard several years ago, and threw some amazing parties. We even had t-shirts printed (emblazoned with the "bar" logo) and sold them to the partiers.

They are fun-- Jon and I went to a cool one in Vegas some years back (Frankie's Tiki Room-- I had to google it to remember the name). We still have the ceramic tiki heads our drinks came in.
