Vernacular typography in France [More:]One of my favourite links on the internet. Looking at these photos reminds me of going on holiday as a child and seeing all the foreign looking old signs.

I haven't been to France yet and now I feel the pull of their wonderful fonts.

I do love typography sites, including John Boardley's obviously-named "I Love Typography". And for anyone like me who looks for fonts to use and has no budget to acquire them, FontSquirrel is my goto10. It's where you can find the Impact replacement: League Gothic, a bunch of better Comic San replacements, and the 'just now becoming ubiquitous enough to get annoying' Lobster.

A note to the old soldiers on my email list (more inside) || I know this isn't SportsFilter but, damn I'm beside myself about Aldridge
