So it's been an interesting day in North Texas, where the fracking and the weather mix together for surprising results. [More:] Earlier today we had a 4.0 earthquake (about 20 miles from me), then north of town a few tornados. And now, most recently, in a "you've got your chocolate in my peanut butter" moment, a lightning strike has ignited a gas well (near where my son lives) with spectacular results.
It's the End of Days, Doohickie. I hope you're ready.

And all hail's breaking loose in Colorado....
And a very evil wind blows in Oklahoma.

They're rioting in Africa,
They're starving in Spain,
There's hurricanes in Florida,
And Texas needs rain. ...

Somehow the political process makes different choices in the US compared to the NL. Here in NL nobody wants their houses to be worth less because of earthquakes or the groundwater to be contaminated. So Not In My Backyard wins out when it comes to the question of shale gas and fracking.
Tornados and lightning truly make for a nice apocalyptic touch.
